Saturday on the Arcata Plaza has a rhythm: farmers market first, then somebody's kid spots the yogurt shop on the corner of 9th and G. Cups get loaded with berries from one stall over, and everyone finds a bench.
Weekdays it belongs to everyone else. Cal Poly Humboldt students stretching a study break, families back from the trails in the Community Forest, little leaguers still in their cleats. Self-serve means everyone gets exactly the cup they wanted.
